“The writer must believe that what he is doing
is the most important thing in the world.
And he must hold to this illusion even when
he knows it is not true.”
I happen to believe this is true for almost every great pursuit, from raising a child to becoming an Olympic level anything; when you approach a goal as if it is the most important thing in the world, only then do we get to see what you are capable of.
